Even the cuboid home, that replaces a prior property on exactly the exact same plot, features an elegant washed concrete façade using an array of square openings in an assortment of different sizes. Wespi de Meuron Romeo Architetti hunted to carefully integrate the brand new building within the present area. Located on a sloping site, your home is accessed through the ground level, or by another entry at the back of the property which contributes through a small courtyard in to the main living area. A stairs at the center of your home, illuminated using a skylight, joins every one of their residence’s three floors.
Along with this covered seat and the major entry, the ground floor comprises a basement in addition to storage facilities. Principal living accommodation can be entirely on the uppermost storey, with a dining and kitchen room, a lounge, and a partially covered courtyard with access into this garden at the back.
A minor material palette was used throughout the plot, together with washed concrete employed for its building’s outer shell. Internally, cement plaster was employed for its walls and ceilings, together with cuboid recesses for objects and books integrated in to the roughcast surfaces. The property’s floors are produced from smooth polished concrete, whereas natural oak was useful for its windows and fittings.
