This home in Taiwan is the definition of exactly what a more simple, pure and zen home must look like. It’s a space designed by Wei Yi International Design Associates. It is a very pure and simple home, very low-profile but at precisely the same time very stylish as well.
The trick here was to find the ideal balance between cool and warm colours, raw and polished finishes and also all the different textures used throughout. Gray is the most important color chosen for all of the spaces. It creates a neutral backdrop which highlights all of the accent colors and the endings which stand out by comparison. The surfaces are both imperfect and irregular and that is what makes this such an authentic and lovely decor.
An option was made between three accent colors, and also the winner was blue as blue is much more relaxing and moves nicely with gray. It became the color used to the accent wall in the dining room as well as with this corridor. As you can see, the walls have a distinctive finish using an artisanal personality, a detail which supports the layout direction chosen for this undertaking. Red was used to enhance the living room and make it less cold.
Exposed concrete walls, polished concrete flooring, grey furniture, gray-black bricks and low-brightness colours are simply a few of the features that operate together to transform this space into a quiet, relaxing and tranquil sanctuary.
